The photo below show's the main entrance to the site which is down Gardeners Lane or know to villagers as back lane. In the foreground there is the guard house and behind that is one of the hardened block houses which held equipment, what sort of equipment I'm not sure at the moment but I'll hope find out later. ?

The gate to the right of the photo is not the original one as this had to be replaced. The site is now privately owned and used to house horses. With this in mind I hope to find out who owns the site and arrange and official visit in the future.

The original site is split  into three parts, two of which are down Gardeners Lane and the other being just outside the village off Lambourne Hall Road. The photo's below show the two cottages which I believe were used by officers for the site, The side road which runs up the left side of the cottages was a lot longer and ran to the centre of the site, which MAY have housed a block house,  I believe that this part was not very big but I haven't been able to find any drawings of any part of the site, (this is still being investigated).  I have been to the public records office and the Army museum as well the RAF Museum at Hendon. How ever as the last owners of the site were Marconi in Chelmsford they may be able to supply further details about the site.

As I said above the road along side the cottages was once a lot longer than it is today and if you enlarge the photo below you'll see a tree in the middle of the picture which I believe was the extent of the road. The site in this field was quite large, mainly because of the three tower's that were in the field (one of which is now on the Marconi site at Chelmsford).

It turns out that this site held a type 700 Radar and was opened in 1937 but as of yet I don't know the exact date that it closed. I have a contact in the Village who has quite a lot of information on the site, and has said that I can borrow the information, so as soon as I can I will scan it on to the web site.
