Earls Colne

Location: Situated about 1 mile south of the Village of Earls Colne
Date opened: August 1942, but was inactive until May when B-17s of the 94th Bomb Group (heavy) arrived
Operational Status: Heavy bomber Base for B-17s of the 94th Bomb Group, B26s of the 323rd Bomb group
Airfield Closed: The airfield was put into care and maintenance in spring 1946 and was the returned to agriculture
Current Status:  Mostly a golf course plus a private landing strip as can be seen from the photo above
