

Chipping Ongar
| Location: | Though the airfield is called Chipping Ongar the airfield is universally known as Willingale airfield after the small village a short distance to the north east of the airfield site |
| Date opened: | First American units started arriving on the 21st June 1943 |
| Operational Status: | Medium bomber airfield with B26s |
| Airfield Closed: | Last flying took place on the 24th March 1945 but the ministry of Defence did not sell the airfield until 1959 |
| Current Status: | Some of the airfield can be seen including part of the main runway, some hard standings and a few workshops |
