Bradwell Bay

Location: Near Bradwell Bay village
Date opened: First Canadian unit flew in on the 15th April 1942, the opening was delayed from January 42 due to the weather
Operational Status: Medium to Light Bomber base with Douglas Boston III's, de Havilland Mosquito's, then a fighter base with Typhoons and Tempest's plus spitfires.
Airfield Closed: The airfield closed in 1946
Current Status:  Quite a lot of the airfield can still be seen today including some of the hangers and the control tower which is used as a private house.
