Birch

Location: Although named after the village of Birch, the airfield was really closer to Messing, which is about a mile to the South-west and south of  the main A12
Date opened: Spring of 1944
Operational Status: Class A bomber field
Airfield Closed: Exact date unknown but the last flying took place on the 24th September 1944.
Current Status:  Mainly returned to agriculture, though some residual signs are left if you look hard enough.
